READING CIRCLE

Think with, from, and through the Atlantic Ocean

Ours is a reading group designed as part of the program “Over_Seas: Active Ties, Tides, and Times” to think interdisciplinarily with, from, and through the Atlantic Ocean, concerning its many coastlines, shores and isles.

Our idea is to meet every two months around a “sea-changing book” suggested by members in their fields of study (Literature, Environmental and Natural History, Marine Biology, Anthropology, Philosophy and Hydrography, so far). We will share with each other how we think the text addresses (or not) our interests and questions, including how it can deepen critical mass between us for research and action on cross-fertilization on the intersecting routes of Atlantic and coastal studies.

Next meeting: Dec. 19, 2025, 11 a.m.
